Day 1: Arrive San Jose
Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the hotel Crowne Plaza Corobici or similar.
San Jose is a bustling city nestled inside a tropical paradise; San Jose sits in the center of the country in the Central Valley and is surrounded by gorgeous untouched cloud forests. Serving as a hub to the rest of the country, San Jose is the perfect place to use as a base camp to tour Costa Rica
Overnight at the hotel

Day 2: San Jose (B, L)
After Breakfast at the hotel visit Poas Volcano National Park and La Paz Waterfall Gardens with lunch included. Depart to the Northern Highlands of the Central Valley driving through the province of Alajuela, birthplace of the country’s National Hero Juan Santamaria, through the picturesque little villages, with ferns, strawberry and coffee plantations, before reaching the Poas Volcano National Park

At the 9000 ft. summit, walk along a volcanic cloud forest teeming with native plant species and enjoy the breath taking scenery at the main crater, with turquoise colour waters, considered one of the largest geyser types in the world

After descending, visit to Doka Estates, a family owned coffee plantation and mill where you will learn about the traditional techniques of coffee farming, harvesting, milling and roasting still in use and enjoy a hearty typical lunch with a spectacular view of this award winning coffee plantation. Then return to San Jose

Day 3: San Jose – Tortuguero (B, L, D)
Early morning departure from San José traveling East through breathtaking Braulio Carrillo National Park. Enjoy breakfast in the village of Guapiles. Now in the Caribbean region, travel through banana plantations to the place where the boat will be waiting to the group. Boat transfer through the canals to Tortuguero area. Arrive to the hotel where lunch will be enjoyed
In the afternoon visit to Tortuguero Village and the Caribbean Conservation Center
Dinner in the Hotel. Overnight at Aninga Lodge

Day 4: Tortuguero (B, L, D)
After breakfast enjoy a walk in the trails. Return to the hotel and enjoy of the hotel facilities – as the turtle shape pool, where you can relax in a natural ambiance, which will give you a sense of peace
Lunch in the hotel and then in the afternoon boat tour through the Tortuguero Cannals
The park has a large variety of biological diversity due to the existence within the reserve of eleven different habitats including rainforest, mangrove forests, swamps, beaches, and lagoons. Located in a tropical climate, it is very humid, and receives up to 250 inches (6,400 mm) of rain a year
All meals are included in the hotel

Day 5: Tortuguero – Arenal (B, L)
After breakfast boat transfer, where the place where your transportation will be waiting for you to travel to Arenal, this transfer will pass by many banana plantations Lunch will be on route
Then continue to the north plains through the central volcanic range, until the plains which extends to Nicaragua. The destination is Arenal area, where the active Arenal Volcano is located.This area has many plantations of pineapple, cassava and others
Arrival to the hotel in the afternoon, overnight at Hotel Arenal Kioro

Day 6: Arenal (B,D)
Visit to Arenal Volcano National Park and Tabacon Hot Spring with dinner
Arenal Volcano tour visit starts with a drive to the active Western side of the volcano. Once there you will embark on a hike on the Toucans Trail which traverses the rainforest and crosses over a large lava flow from 1992. It is possible to observe a great variety of plants, wildlife and magnificent lava rock formations. Once on the top of the lava flow you will have a beautiful view of the Arenal Lake

The hike ends up at a view point, where if the weather allows, you will be able to see red hot lava rolling down the side of the volcano (3 pm tour only). During the tour, our experienced guides will provide interesting and educational information regarding the history of the majestic mountain and the Arenal Volcano National Park

Before dark, you will continue to the observation point, which offers the closest, most direct lava flow vista. Relax, enjoy a drink and listen to the incredible sounds of the volcano. If cloud cover is high enough, expect to see a dazzling. Your guide will explain the history of this magnificent volcano as you listen to a variety of frogs, toucans, and insects, watch thousands of lightning bugs

Tabacon offers thermal waters heated directly from the Arenal Volcano. Explore the beautiful Rainforest that surround the hot springs, and emerge you in the mineral waters surrounded by waterfalls and lush tropical gardens
