Project Description
New South Wales
Go beyond the popular tourist locales of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Bondi Beach to explore the most scenic white-sand beaches, world class wineries, and even Jurassic rainforest while in New South Wales.
The diversity in this route is phenomenal as you traverse from oceanside attractions like the Barrenjoey Lighthouse, to family-friendly ones set inside the Australian bush Treetop Adventure Park, to a sand-dune safari at the Stockton Sand Dunes – largest moving dunes in the Southern Hemisphere. You can also go swimming with wild dolphins at Port Stephens and indulge in some of Australia’s finest food and wine produce at Hunter Valley. The iconic Blue Mountains in Katoomba surrounded by plunging canyons and awe-inspiring rock formations are also not to be missed. And quite close to Canberra, Australia’s capital city is the seaside beauty called Jervis Bay, an ideal location for picnics and romantic dates.
Perth & beyond
Experience the lesser-explored South-West Edge of Australia beginning your journey in Perth where soft-sand beaches and scenic parks meet a thriving metropolis and drive all the way up to Esperance, the isle-wrapped vista that makes it one of the dreamiest beaches in Australia.
And while you are on this journey, do not miss visiting the picturesque Rottnest Island where the world’s cutest and extremely photogenic marsupial, the quokka live. Head out to Fremantle for their range of boutique wineries and breweries or take up a scenic hiking or mountain biking trail in Wellington National Park. Do not miss your date with the dolphins at Koombana Bay or watch humpback whales flirt with each other at Augusta. Along the route, visit The Gap for some of the most compelling views of the ocean before you head to Esperance where you watch Kangaroos sunbathing on the sand and discover aboriginal culture.
Lastly, don’t miss out the spectacular bubblegum-pink Lake Hillier on Middle Island in Recherche Archipelago.
Queensland
Add the element of excitement to your family holiday when you hand-feed wild dolphins, cruise with humpback whales and spot crocodiles all in an exciting road-trip from Gold Coast to Cairns.
Begin in Gold Coast’s most famous neighborhood Surfer’s Paradise and learn to snorkel out there. There are also a multitude of exhilarating theme parks to choose from – Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World, Dreamworld, Wet ‘n’ Wild Gold Coast and WhiteWater World. From Desert Safari Tours to hand-feeding wild dolphins, Moreton Island is where you come up close with nature. But your interaction with Australia’s weird and wonderful wildlife doesn’t end there – cuddle the koalas, pat the possums and hand-feed kangaroos at Australia Zoo.
Then there are beautiful towns like Noosa, Fraser Island, Hervey Bay and Whitsunday Islands where the family can partake in a plethora of experiences for a fun-filled holiday.
