One word sums up this small country: Diversity.
Climate, people, culture, landscapes, flora and fauna and animals are all diverse as a result of its geographic location in the center of the planet. Ecuador is one of South America’s smaller countries, but it fascinates with four distinct geographical areas.
This month, we turn our spotlight on Lisa Stempfer, the Co-Founder of No Limits Reisen. Lisa presents Ecuador as a distinctive South American destination, guiding every traveler with unwavering expertise and enthusiasm.

The Galapagos Islands, the most fantastic and important islands on Earth, are located above the waters of the Pacific Ocean. The marine fauna is massive, and the terrestrial fauna is not only abundant, but also represents humanity’s distant past. They have one of the world’s most pleasant climates, making it a year-round tourist attraction.

Several endemic species can be found in this natural zoo, including Galapagos penguins and Darwin’s finches, as well as giant tortoises, marine and land iguanas.

The Archipielago and the Galapagos Marine Reserve were declared Natural Heritage of Mankind, and later one of the seven most important places in the world for surface and deep diving.

There are two ways to explore the islands:

Aboard a cruise that allows you to go further afield and reach remote islands of the Galapagos archipelago. Most Galapagos cruises are smaller ships with a maximum of 16 passengers. Due to the small capacity, the atmosphere on a small cruise ship is quite familiar. There are also larger ships that are great for a family vacation in the Galapagos because they feature more public places such as a bar, restaurant, pool, or fitness center. The beauty of Galapagos cruises is that you wake up in a different location each day and can explore the island right after breakfast.

Galapagos Island Hopping is therefore appropriate for travelers who prefer to sleep on firm ground and stay in hotels.

You can explore the Galapagos by discovering your overnight island and switching guides during the day, or by boating to other islands. The benefit of Galapagos island hopping is that you have complete freedom of schedule.

The Amazon Rainforest where National Parks and Reserves are home to more than 600 species of fishes. They share their habitat with tapirs, anacondas, boa constrictors, tortoises, alligators, jaguars, deer, armadillos, bears, monkeys and more than 900 species of birds.

The Yasuni National Park is part of the Biosphere Reserve of the planet. Since ancestral times, the rainforest with its medical plants, has served as a natural pharmacy to the indigenous communities that inhabit this land.

Imagine kayaking in the Amazon rainforest, just hearing bird sounds and monkeys rustling in the treetops. At the end of each day, you will return to a luxury lodge in the middle of the forest to get some rest and prepare for your next jungle adventure.

The Andes are home to mystical mountains and volcanoes such as Cotopaxi, an active volcano, and Chimborazo, the closest point to the sun at 6310 meters above sea level. Most of the volcanoes in Ecuador can be climbed in one to three day hiking trips for an unforgettable mountain expedition experience.

The Andean mountain range is a vast valley that runs through the heart of Ecuador, passing through incredible landscapes, humid and tropical forests, valleys, colorful towns and historical cities, lakes, waterfalls, lagoons, and rivers. You can charge your batteries in one of the majestic haciendas. The historic buildings in the Andes have been converted into luxurious retreats and pamper you with everything you could desire.

The Otavalo Market, one of South America’s largest indigenous markets, invites visitors to discover a rich tapestry of Ecuadorian traditions and crafts. Beyond the market stalls, interacting with local weavers provides insight into the ancient skill of textile creation and the rich cultural importance woven into each thread.

Ecuador’s capital, Quito, has one of the world’s largest and best-preserved historical colonial centers. It becomes clear why it was the first UNESCO World Heritage Site

The Pacific Coast features beautiful beaches, modern cities, fishing villages, and protected forest reserves. The Cayapas-Mataje Ecological Reserve contains the world’s highest mangroves between 45 and 50 meters above sea level. Each year, between the months of June and October a fascinating spectacle occurs: the observation of humpback whales migrating from Antarctica to mate and reproduce near Isla de la Plata, also known as Galapagos Chiquito (Little Galapagos) because it is easy to find species such as blue-footed boobies, red-footed boobies, dolphins, sea turtles, yellow-necked albatrosses, and frigatebirds with their red swollen crops.

Guayaquil, “The Pearl of the Pacific,” the country’s most important port, is regarded as a model of urban regeneration in Latin America and has emerged as one of the most popular convention destinations.

Whether you want to spend your vacation with your family, as a couple, as a group, as a solo or senior traveler, Ecuador is your destination because it provides a variety of options and choices. There are numerous travel alternatives available, including adventure, ecotourism, bird watching, agro-tourism, history and culture, water sports, incentive trips, and conventions.

The country is a paradise for those who want to visit four distinct and fascinating worlds within one country and for those who wish to have a unique and authentic experience.
